In a telephonic conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s consistent position on the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Taking to social media, Prime Minister Modi stated that India remains committed to making every possible contribution towards achieving peace, while also emphasizing the importance of further strengthening bilateral ties with Ukraine.

The call comes ahead of a high-profile meeting between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled to take place in Alaska next Friday, where the future of the Ukraine conflict will be a key topic of discussion.

Mr. Trump announced the upcoming meeting via social media, and it was later confirmed by a Kremlin spokesperson, who noted that Alaska was a logical choice due to its geographic proximity to Russia.
