The list of Padma award recipients was revealed by the Home Ministry on Tuesday (January 25). This year, 128 persons will receive one of the country's highest civilian honours.
Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, and Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, will be awarded the Padma Bhushan for their contributions to trade and industry.
Padma Shri awards have been given to singer Sonu Nigam and Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra.
India's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) was posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian award, after he died in a horrific chopper crash last month.
These awards are conferred by the President at ceremonial functions held at his official residence - the Rashtrapati Bhawan - around March or April each year.
