In the early hours of Friday, a terrorist was killed in an encounter with security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag area (December 24, 2021).
The search is presently underway, according to the Kashmir Zone Police, and further information will be released soon. In the Arwani region of the Anantnag district, a battle between security personnel and terrorists had begun.
"Encounter has started at Mumanhal (Arwani), area of Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," the Kashmir Zone Police had tweeted.
According to a police officer, a joint searching team security force set up a cordon and search operation after receiving specific information regarding the presence of terrorists in Arwani village.
"As the searching party cordoned the suspected spot, the exchange of fire started and resulted in a gunfight," he added.
According to police sources, two to three terrorists have been apprehended.
