India's cumulative COVID vaccination coverage has exceeded 38 crore 50 lakh. Union Health Ministry said, more than 34 lakh 10 thousand vaccine doses were administered yesterday. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st of last month.
The Ministry said, 15 lakh 49 thousand vaccine doses were administered as first dose and more than one lakh 19 thousand vaccine doses given as second dose in the age group 18 to 44 years yesterday.
Cumulatively, over 11 crore 59 lakh persons in the age group 18 to 44 years across States and UTs have received their first dose and more than 40 lakh 19 thousand have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive.
Eight States namely Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra have administered more than 50 lakh first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group 18 to 44 years.
