Bhagwant Mann meets governor Purohit, stakes claim to form govt in Punjab

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister-designate of Punjab met governor Banwarilal Purohit at the Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh on Saturday and staked claim to form the next government in the border state.
A day ago, Mann, who won the Dhuri seat by 45,000 votes, was elected as the AAP Legislature Party leader at a meeting of the party's MLAs in Mohali.
The governor has dissolved the 15th Vidhan Sabha, an official spokesperson said here, after Charanjit Singh Channi submitted his resignation as the chief minister to Purohit.
