VMSS health department teams checking at sweet farsan shops

In view of Navratri and Dussehra festivals, the health department teams of Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan conduct checking at manufacturers and shops selling fafda and jalebi in different parts of the city. The teams also checked traders selling chilli powder and retail milk and collect samples for laboratory testing.

Over the last 15 days, teams from the health department conducted checks at around 42 shops and manufacturers in the areas including Fategunj, Kadak Bazar, Ellora Park, Rajmahal Road, New VIP Road, Sangam Char Rasta, Waghodia Road. In which 70 samples including fafda, jalebi, besan, oil, chorafali chutney have been taken and sent to the Public Health Laboratory for analysis. Also 05 kg of paper and 15 kg of inedible material were destroyed on the spot.

Apart from this, checking were carried out at 12 retail milk shops in the city including Navabazar, Makarpura, Ajwa Road, Gotri and Gorwa. Out of which 12 samples have been collected by the teams for checking.

A special drive regarding chilli powder was conducted by the teams and collected three samples from shops in Hathikhana and Chokhandi areas. The team siezed 224 kg chilli powder worth over Rs 43,000 during the checking. Thus, 16 samples of milk and chilli have been seized in a special drive and sent to the laboratory for testing.
