Emotional scenes created at Vadodara Gotri hospital as three children born together and brought in serious condition get healed after a month of intensive care. The paediatric gave new life to three new borns and discharged from the hospital on Friday.
Even during the Corona period, the hospital continued to provide the best services and patients of Mucormyscosis were also treated here which is noteworthy.
Resident doctor Dr. Mausum Jaiswal said, Two brothers and a sister born to a mother in a private hospital in Chhotaudepur were brought to their department for intensive care on the fourth day of birth in critical condition.
These babies were born at 32 weeks, i.e. 8 months prematurely. One of the three weighed 1.300 grams, the other weighed only 900 grams and the third weighed 1.100 grams, which is very low.
The baby weighed 900 grams and was the healthiest despite being the lightest. After three days of oxygen, his condition improved. The condition of the other two was relatively delicate. So they had to be kept under ventilator for the first 5 days. Problems such as low birth weight, premature birth and oral bleeding exacerbated their condition. They also had to be protected from infection.
However, under the guidance of Dr. Nimisha Pandya, Head of the Department, team of Associate Professor Dr. Gautam Shah, Dr. Mausam Jaiswal and Dr. Shikhardeep Jain took up the challenge of treatment with their knowledge and medical skills and the belief that they could save them.
They gave medical treatment that was considered very complex and took all the necessary care to keep these newborns infection free. Along with that their mother also received the necessary medical care. The nursing and support staff of department of Newborn Intensive Care Unit also took all the necessary care of all. As a result, the condition of the children gradually improved, they came out of critical condition and gained good weight.
Its an emotional moment on Friday for the paediatric ward as the children were discharged and send back home with their parents in a healthy condition.
The father of the children, thanked the doctors and staff for their noble service and felt grateful to them. The cost of this treatment in a private hospital is slightly more than a lakh. While treated here is almost free for the family. The fact that noble treatment is available in government hospitals has been proved once again.
