The old city area witnessed communal tension late Sunday night after an accident on the Raopura Road. The vehicle owners got into arguments with each other and soon members of two communities joined in.
At least three persons were injured in the incident.
The situation worsened when mobs came on the road in Raopura and Amdavadi Pol. Soon, some miscreants pelted stones and it led to communal tension. Some vehicles were damaged and an idol kept in small temple near Kothi Pol was also damaged.
"The incident occurred over a road accident and the two groups clashed with each other. Three persons got minor injuries. The situation is normal now. We are filing police complaint," said Shamsher Singh, city police commissioner.
