The `Swarnim Vijay Varsh Conclave' : लक्ष्यान्विति (LAKSHYANVITI) : SYNERGISED OBJECTIVES, a mega event organized to commemorate 50 years of India's victory in Indo Pak war of 1971 culminated at Air Force Station Yelahanka on Sunday after three days of wide-ranging discussions and exchange of views among eminent participants.
The Conclave participants included veterans of 1971 war, senior veterans, serving armed forces officers, diplomats, bureaucrats and other dignitaries interacting on a single platform while airing their views on the theme "Congruence of the politico-military thoughts and goals : Birth of a Nation". The Conclave brought forth many known and hidden facets of the 1971 war. Critical analysis of war strategies and associated requirements during a war, presented by speakers from different perspectives brought out important lessons for the future.
The closing session of the Conclave was addressed by Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari PVSM AVSM VM ADC, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS). Air Marshal Manavendra Singh AVSM VrC VSM ADC AOC-in-C, Training Command (TC), Air Marshal Vikram Singh VSM, AOC-in-C South Western Air Command (SWAC), Senior War veterans, Serving Officers and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
CAS complimented Training Command for their efforts in facilitating a stimulating environment for thoughts and ideas towards a successfully conducted Conclave. Reflecting on views articulated by eminent speakers at the Conclave, CAS emphasized the need to be future ready to meet the dynamic changes in the nature and scope of modern warfare along with the need to synergise planning processes and objectives to increment the net National power. Speaking on diplomatic and civil perspectives to statecraft and war fighting, CAS brought out the significance of an "All of Nation approach" in pursuing National interests. Concluding his address, CAS expressed hope that the younger members of the audience would have drawn valuable perspectives from the Conclave, helping them shape their thoughts and planning for the future.
Air Marshal B Chandra Sekhar AVSM, Senior Air Staff Officer, Training Command proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude to one and all for their contribution.
