Ahmedabad is emerging as a potential technology hub and is expected to be the next prominent centre after Bengaluru, according to a report released by Deloitte India and Nasscom on Tuesday.

With its favourable business environment, infrastructure development and availability of skilled workforce, Ahmedabad is attracting the attention of technology companies and investors, the report said.

Focusing on 26 cities of high potential, the report — Emerging Technology Hubs of India — examines five overarching pillars like talent, infrastructure, risk and regulatory environment, startup ecosystem, and social and living environment that are vital to establishing a flourishing technological landscape.

He also said that Gujarat International Finance-Tec (GIFT) City, India’s first international finance service centre, is anticipated to create around 6,00,000 jobs directly and indirectly across various sectors such as finance, IT and commodity trading.

The city has a conducive startup ecosystem with more than 30 incubators and initiatives like iHub-Gujarat.

This promotes innovation and encourages entrepreneurs in the technology industry, the report said.
