Vacationers this summer can get more flights from Rajkot.

With the third wave of Covid-19 abating completely and more people expected to travel, the city will get more flights to Mumbai and Delhi and a new connectivity to Hyderabad.

The airport currently operates nine flights which will be 14 beginning March 27.

According to airport officials, two flights each for Mumbai and Delhi will start operation from March 27. Currently there are four flights to Mumbai, which will now be increased to six and three to Delhi which will now be five per day. This airport already has flights connecting to Bengaluru and Goa.

The connectivity to Mumbai and Delhi and other destinations will also boost Saurashtra's industrial growth. The business community of Morbi and Jamnagar also use Rajkot airport.

Sanjay Mehta, a leading travel agent of Rajkot said, "We travel agents have also demanded a flight to Ahmedabad till the completion of the new six-lane highway. It takes five to six hours to reach Ahmedabad by road. The airlines and airport authorities are positive about it."
