A public awareness rally was organized by the Bharuch Forest Department under the Karuna Abhiyan initiative to mark Uttarayan Parva.
The rally aimed to raise awareness about protecting birds and animals that often suffer injuries during the festival.
Focus on Animal Safety During Kite Festival
During Uttarayan, commonly celebrated with kite flying, numerous birds and animals are injured or killed due to sharp kite strings. To address this issue, the Forest Department launched the rally to promote compassion and encourage safety measures for these creatures.
Rally Route and Participation
The rally commenced from Unnati Vidyalaya and concluded at Shaktinath Circle, with participants carrying banners and placards highlighting the importance of protecting wildlife. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Forest Department officials, including Range Forest Officer MB Dabhi and Forest Officer Pushpak Gohil, along with local schoolchildren.
Message of Compassion
Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized the need for collective efforts to prevent harm to animals and birds during the festival. The rally aimed to inspire people to celebrate responsibly and extend care to injured creatures.
The Karuna Abhiyan is a reminder to balance celebration with empathy, ensuring that the joy of festivities does not come at the expense of innocent lives.
