Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit his home state of Gujarat on May 26 and 27, marking his first trip to the state after Operation Sindoor that targeted terror launch pads in Pakistan as well as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
A grand welcome is being planned in Ahmedabad, with a massive roadshow scheduled in the evening of May 26.
The roadshow, expected to draw lakhs of supporters, will span a 2-km route from Airport Circle to Indira Bridge. Extensive preparations are currently underway.
To avoid traffic issues during the roadshow, traffic guidelines have already been released, outlining which roads between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will be closed and the alternative routes available.
The road from Ahmedabad Airport via Airport Circle, Indira Bridge Circle, Mother Dairy, to Apollo Circle will be closed for vehicular movement.
Important note for air travellers (6.00 pm – 9.00 pm flights):
Passengers with flights between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm are advised to leave their homes two hours earlier than usual.
Post 4.00 pm, only vehicles related to the roadshow or airport passengers will be allowed on the route from Dafnala to the airport.
People coming for the roadshow must reach the designated area before 5.00 pm. The entire road, including the service road and connecting lanes, will be a no-parking zone after 1.00 pm. Residents of Hansol, Kotarpur, Nobel Nagar, Meghaninagar, and Sardarnagar should avoid unnecessary travel during this period and use alternative routes if needed. In case of any emergency, contact the traffic helpline at 1095.
PM Modi to visit Dahod, Kutch, and Gandhinagar
Over 50,000 BJP workers are expected to attend the celebrations, alongside thousands of residents. The roadshow is likely to cause traffic diversions, and security has been tightened in anticipation of the high-profile event.
The entire stretch will be decked out in national colors, featuring tricolour flags and special lighting to create a patriotic atmosphere, said officials.
“This will be Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Gujarat after Operation Sindoor. People are preparing to welcome him in grand fashion,” said Devang Dani, chairman of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Standing Committee.
PM Modi will visit three key districts of Gujarat—Dahod, Kutch, and Gandhinagar.
On May 26, PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 33 development projects worth ₹53,414 crore in Bhuj, Kutch.
A major highlight of the trip will be PM Modi’s visit to Dahod, where he will review progress on a landmark railway project aimed at manufacturing high-power electric locomotives under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
