NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY- a day to think for a brighter future.

Formed under the Union Ministry of Power, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency – BEE, has been leading the celebrations of National Energy Conservation Day on December 14 since 1991. Energy conservation is a big necessity that is required of our greener and brighter future. The agenda of celebrating national energy conservation Day is to create more and more awareness regarding the importance of energy and resources conservation. Conserving energy means wisely using energy rather than indiscriminately misusing it in every aspects of life. Along with pledging to conserve the energy one must also pledge to promote the use of renewable energy sources to make the future of our earth even better. On this day, BEE felicitate the winners with awards which commends the efforts of industry, institution and establishments ranging from power plants to hotels to recognize the efforts on Energy Conservation in the country by them. Further plans for the future are also discussed, targeting holistic development as the main goal towards mitigation of climate change and how to adopt a sustainable development. To promote energy conservation in young minds of the country ,the BEE also organise National Level Painting Competitions every Year. Various discussions, conferences, and workshops are also organized to raise awareness.
