National Academy of Indian Railways, Vadodara in association with Food Safety and Standardization Authority of India and Health Directorate of Railway Board, New Delhi is organizing Five days Induction/Refresher Training for Designated officers of Indian Railways, FSSAI, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh from 25.10.21 to 29.10.21.

It is first of its Series in outside FSSAI premises, in Indian Railways and NAIR, Vadodara as Venue Partner, as it is the Apex Premier Centralized Training Institute of Government of India.

The Programme was inaugurated by SPS Chauhan Director General, NAIR, Dr Vijay Kumar, Principal Executive Director Health, Railway Board, New Delhi, Kamlesh Gosai, Deputy DG, NAIR, Dr S.K. Mitra Senior Professor Health Mangement, NAIR, Sumeysh Krisshnan Deputy Director, Eastern Regional Office, Kolkatta and Dr K.V. Girish Professor Health Management and Course Director, NAIR.

Speaking in this inaugural address, SPS Chauhan said that NAIR is hosting the first National programme for training Designated officers in collaboration with Railway Board & FSSAI. Food safety and food hygiene are important as they ensure that the food you handle and produce is safe for consumption. If food safety and hygiene are not maintained, consumers could become seriously ill with food poisoning and foodborne illnesses. Access to sufficient amounts of safe and nutritious food is key for sustaining life and promoting good health.

During these 05 days of training programme, faculties will provide the opportunity to learn and grow, to try new things and challenge yourselves. Dr Vijay Kumar said that Indian Railways is the single large organization, where there is a large scope for the Proper implementation of FSSAI guidelines for making " EAT RIGHT INDIA" across PAN INDIA & look forward for more collaborations.

Sumeysh Krisshnan, DD FSSAI said about the first joint venture of hosting Training to Designated officers of FSSAI in Indian Railways at NAIR, Vadodara. This collaboration was conceptualized by Dr Vijay Kumar, DGRHS & Dr K Sridhar, EDH- General and Additional Commissioner of FSSAI. It is 5 days On campus training in the State of art class rooms at Manthan complex, NAIR.
