Campaigning is in full swing for the first phase of polling. Voting will be held on 89 seats in the first phase on December 1.

The BJP has suspended seven party members who had filed nominations as independent candidates for the first phase of polling.

Sources reports that campaigning in the state has gained momentum with the election meetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the third day of his election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address election rallies at Surendranagar, Jambusar, and Navsari today, November 21.

In his public meetings, Mr. Modi is appealing to people to give BJP another chance for maintaining the pride of Gujarat and the development of the state.

The Congress party has also fielded its prominent leaders in the campaign. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Surat and Rajkot today, November 21. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will also accompany him. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party's National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, and other leaders are campaigning hard to woo the voters.

Today, November 21, is the last day to withdraw the nomination for the second phase. In this phase, one thousand 112 nominations have been found valid.
