Bharuch: Vagra MLA writes letter to Government to prevent loss of crops due to industrial pollution

Vagra MLA Arun Singh Rana made a sharp written representation at a high level including CM Vijay Rupani to take disciplinary action against the responsible industrial units by the GPCB to investigate the damage caused by polluted air and water to the crops of the farmers of Bharuch district released by the industrial units.

The growing number of industries in Bharuch district will accelerate the development in the district. But with the establishment of industries, toxic pollution is seriously affecting the agriculture and health of the people around. Despite repeated representations to curb pollution, the result has been zero and the legislators of Vagra have finally come to the forefront of the world.

The MLA of Wagra has sent a letter stating that the toxic pollution and polluted air polluting companies are causing immediate damage to the standing crops of the farmers of Bharuch district as well as the environment. Farmers of bharuch district in Vagra, Amod, Jambusar as well as Ankleshwar and Jhagadiya talukas cultivate cotton, pulses, vegetables and horticultural crops on a large scale. Millions of hectares of land of many farmers in the district are causing extensive damage to different crops as well as trees and the environment.

In addition, human health is also being adversely affected. GPCB Despite repeated representations, has taken no action against the industrialists in the district. Appropriate investigation should be carried out against the units on an immediate basis. Strict action should be taken against the polluting companies as soon as possible and the toxic chemicals released by the industries, polluted water and polluted air should be stopped immediately.

A letter demanding proper decision has been sent by Vagra MLA Arun Singh Rana to Gujarat CCM Vijay Rupani as well as State BJP President CR Patil and Environment Minister Jaydrath Singh Parmar and Bharuch District Collector besides the Regional Office Gujarat Pollution Control Board.
