The Mines and Minerals Department conducted a major raid in Achhod village of Amod taluka, Bharuch, uncovering illegal soil excavation exceeding the permitted limit.

Officials seized nine dumpers and two Hitachi machines, collectively valued at over ₹3 crore, and initiated legal action.

The excavation was being carried out for railway work, with Basir A. Patel having obtained permission for extracting 10,000 metric tons of soil.

However, during the raid, officials found that soil extraction had far exceeded the approved limit. As a result, all seized equipment was handed over to the Amod police station for further investigation.

Following this raid, panic spread among illegal soil excavators in the Amod district, as authorities intensified their crackdown on unauthorized mining activities.
