Asha workers from Vadodara district gives application to DHO regarding non payment of incentives and harrasment by officers

Asha workers from all the talukas including Dabhoi, Karjan, Shinor, Padra of Vadodara district have lodged a written complaint with the District Health Officer as well as the District Panchayat Office regarding their pending issues. As per their demand though they served at the risk of their lives in the Corona epidemic, they are not yet getting their incentives and also other issues.

They further said that during the corona period, the Asha Workers were on duty from 9 am to 5 pm and yet to get paid. At the same time, they also allege of being harassed in all the PHCs of the taluka. The application states that asha workers are frequently threatened for dismissal and work of a nurse is also done by them. They also allege of being harassed by officers.

It is difficult for them to run the family with a salary of Rs 2,000 and hence they demand incentives of their work and also to increase the remuneration as per the demand. They said the officers gave a positive response to their demands and if the issue is still not resolved they threaten to agitate in coming days.
