The schools, located in Bavla, Dhandhuka, Mandal, Sanand, Viramgam and Daskroi talukas, were fined ₹10,000 each.

After the Rajkot fire incident, strict orders were issued to the  schools to obtain fire NOC, but it has come to light that 22 private schools under the Ahmedabad DPEO were still operating without fire NOC.

According to the Ahmedabad DPEO, these non-granted schools were issued five to six notices prior to this, but they failed to obtain the fire NOC.

These schools have been ordered to pay the fine within two days and to submit a copy of the application made to obtain or renew the fire NOC, with the proof of payment of fines to the DPEO office.

The rules state that schools with buildings less than nine metres high do not require a fire NOC, however, schools spanning over 500 square metres require NOC.
