To further strengthen the water distribution system of Vadodara district, various group schemes worth Rs 364 crore based at Narmada and Mahi rivers will be started by Water Supply Board. The ground breaking ceremony will be done Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during his visit to the district on Tuesday. Water will be supplied to the villages of Savli, Desar, Karjan and Vadodara talukas by 943 km long internal pipeline.

Another special feature of this group scheme is that 377 sumps, 26 tanks will be constructed to provide drinking water to the citizens of the villages of the taluka. Later, water will reach the homes of the citizens through Wasmo and village level water committees.

At Savli in Vadodara district, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will be present at the inauguration and closing ceremony of various group water supply schemes on Tuesday 16th November 2021 at 2.30 pm. Various group water supply schemes worth Rs. 360.77 crore and development works worth Rs. 210.49 crore will be inaugurated at Taluka Seva Sadan, Savli.

Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojana has been implemented with the objective of providing 100% clean drinking water in the villages. As a result the work is completed at a cost of Rs. 83.90 crore and 2,95,351 households in rural areas of Vadodara district will get benefit under this scheme.

With the completion of Mahi river based Vadodara North Division Group Water Supply Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 126.59 crore, the population of 39 villages and 34 suburbs of Vadodara Taluka will get water of intake well. Importantly, under this scheme, 22 underground Sump and headworks at village level, 159.50 km Rising Main and Distribution Pipeline and 46 MLD and water purification plant intake well have been completed. Thus, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate development works worth Rs.210.49 crore.

Mahi River Based Improvement Part-II Group Water Supply Scheme, Deser Group Water Supply Scheme, Narmada Canal Based Savli East Division Group Water Supply Scheme, Vadodara South Division Group Water Supply Scheme and Karjan West Division Group. With the completion of this scheme, approximately 150.87 lakh population of 211 villages, 149 suburbs and 2 cities of Savli, Desar, Karjan and Vadodara talukas will be able to benefit from it.

Rajendra Trivedi, Minister of Revenue and Law, Water Supply minister Hrishikeshbhai Patel, Minister of Fisheries, Minister of state for Narmada and Water Resources, Water Supply Jitubhai Chaudhary, Minister of State for Water and Child Development, Manishaben Vakil, MP's Ranjan Bhatt, Geetaben Rathwa, Mansukh Vasava, District Panchayat chairman Ashok Patel, MLA's Shailesh Mehta, Ketan Inamdar, Akshay Patel, Madhu Srivastava, Yogesh Patel, Seemaben Mohile, Jitendra Sukhadia along with office bearers, dignitaries and citizens will be present at the program.
