Out of 600-odd active Covid cases - one of the highest in the past six months - about 10% are hospitalized, indicated the city-based medical fraternity.

Analysis of the traits indicated that majority of the patients are over 55 years of age and have comorbidities, including diabetes, hypertension, cancer or other ailments.
Dr Rakesh Joshi, medical superintendent of Civil Hospital, said that they had six patients on Friday evening.
Dr Maharshi Desai, a city-based critical care specialist, said that in several cases, Covid per se is not the reason for the hospitalization.
Dr Manoj Vithalani, a city-based internal medicine specialist, said that vaccination is preventing the infection to go severe and infect lungs.
