First time voters in Vadodara are excited after casting their votes for better local representatives who can listen to their pleas. They said the first thing they should do to improve basic facilities and better communication with them.

Nishant Desai a first time voter in municipal elections cast his vote at Shrikrishna Vidhyalay government school Vasna. He said, “I feel responsible enough to cast my vote for better governance in the city. Last time the voter turnout in here is very low and as a youth we shall come forward and vote to increase the percentage and see good candidates in power for progressive development of the city.”

He also added and feel that youth in good numbers shall come into politics and help in getting good government. As far as expectations is concerned he request the elected leaders to provide the basic amenities to people first which they lack for years and then talk about the smart city and other initiatives.

Another first time voter Kunal Thakur cast his vote at Kelavni trust school in Akota. He said, “I felt excited after cast my vote first time in corporation election which is very important for our city. My area has bad roads and people are using the residential area lanes to move towards their destinations which is dangerous. It creates lots of nuisance in societies and dangerous for playing kids. I vote for a change and my expectations is that one to one communication is necessary with the elected councillors. As it becomes easy to get them aware about our problems and they can act more effectively on it. We want the next five years to be smooth”.
