Patients shifted to safety by police and fire brigade teams

Fire was reported in Vijay Vallabh hospital in Vadodara late night on Wednesday create panic in the area. Locals and police along with the fire brigade rushed to the spot and rescued the patients and hospital staff with the help of staircase and other equipments.

As per details around 20 patients were rescued and efforts are going on to save the staff and other patients admitted in the hospital. Thick smoke was seen after fire which creates problems for the fire brigade team as they entered inside to rescue the stuck ones. Ambulances shifted the patients to nearby Jamnabai hospital and given the primary treatment.

GEB team also reached the spot and cut the electric supply of the area and as a precautionary measure police stopped the vehicular traffic between Panigate and Mandvi. No casualties are reported in the incident and the reason of the fire is believed to be due to short circuit. However all will be clear after the investigation.
