The over three-minute trailer of the film shows Savarkar meeting key figures in Indian Independence movement like M.K. Gandhi, Bose, Bal Gangadhar Tilak among others even as it recounts the life journey of Veer Savarkar.

Taking to X, Chandra Kumar Bose said he appreciated the director making a film on Veer Savarkar but added that it is important that the true personality of Veer Savarkar is projected.

He asked Hooda to refrain from "linking 'Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's' name with Savarkar."

Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Randeep Hooda Films, in collaboration with Legend Studios and Avak Films, is set to hit screens on March 22.

Earlier, speaking about the movie, Hooda had claimed that this was not a propaganda movie.
