Pradeep K.R, commonly known as Kottayam, is a well-known Malayalam actor. After suffering a heart attack, Pradeep passed away. He was 61 years old at the time.

He did not add his hometown (Kottayam) to his name until much later, and he began his film career as a junior artist in. Pradeep has also worked in the theatre and on television.

According to IANS, the renowned actor, who was born in Kottayam, felt unwell early this morning and was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Pradeep was a natural actor who took part in cultural events at his school and college when he was in elementary school. He started his debut as a kid actor in a production directed by renowned NN Pillai, who was also from Kottayam.

Even after joining the Life Insurance Corporation, he continued to be a drama queen. When he accompanied his son to a screen test for a TV show in the early 1990s, the show's producer offered him a part in the same show.

In 1999, he was cast in a film directed by veteran I.V.Sasi, and he went on to perform in over 70 films, mostly in comedic roles, which he excelled at.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed his condolences for his death, saying that even in little roles, he carved out his own niche in the business.

'Ee Naadu, Innale Vare,' directed by IV Sasi, was his first film (2001). He appeared in almost 70 films, including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. He is well-known for his roles in comedies. Some of his characters and conversations have now become timeless memes.

Gautam Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and its Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu remakes gave him a break.

Pradeep also won Best Supporting Actor at the 2nd Asianet Comedy Awards 2016 for diverse roles. His final film will be 'Arattu,' which will star Mohanlal.

Later on Thursday, the final rites would be performed. His wife and two children survive him.
