Bihar government has announced to offer Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and MBBS courses in Hindi.

With this decision, Bihar becomes the second state after Madhya Pradesh to avail this facility for the students.

State Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Tuesday, July 2 announced that the students will now be able to study MBBS in Hindi from the upcoming session.

The new course in Hindi is to be implemented in accordance with the AIIMS Delhi syllabus for the students clearing NEET UG 2024 exam.

The state has approximately 85,000 government schools, where Hindi medium is the preferred mode of imparting education.

Madhya Pradesh was the first state to offer the MBBS curriculum in Hindi, but found few takers

Last year, Madhya Pradesh education minister Vishwas Sarang announced plans to introduce an MBBS course in Hindi.

Prior to that, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the MBBS course books in Hindi. The launch marked the first time the MBBS course book was available in Hindi.
