IIT Kanpur launches six new online PG programmes; no GATE scores needed

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has launched six new online postgraduate programmes. The registration for these programmes will be open till October 31.
Admission to these online programmes at IIT Kanpur will not require GATE scores. Interested candidates can apply at emasters.iitk.ac.in until October 31, and the classes will start in January 2024.
While three of the new online PG programmes – Data Science and Business Analytics, Financial Technology and Management, and Power Sector Regulation, Economics, and Management will be run through the Department of Management Sciences, the eMasters degrees in Business Finance, Financial Analysis, and Public Policy have been launched by the Department of Economics.
The new cohorts of eMasters programmes at IIT Kanpur have been designed to cater to the industry’s surge, which demands skilled professionals to drive these transformations.
The executive-friendly eMasters degree programmes can be pursued without pausing professional careers, an IIT Kanpur statement said.
Flexibility in completion time, ranging from one to three years, is provided as a part of these online PG programmes.
The participants of these new online PG degree programmes can take advantage of a credit transfer facility that allows for the transfer of up to 60 credits for further education (MTech/PhD) at IIT Kanpur.
The programme also provides participants with access to the IIT Kanpur placement cell, incubation cell and alumni network.
