Aim to find out the grievances and problems faced by citizens and find sustainable solutions

As Vadodara is geared up for local body elections, Chhatra Sansad team comes up with the Janta ka Manifesto to show the ground level problems which needs to be addressed by the new body. The team will handover the document to top officials and bureaucrats with a hope to bring some change in the society specially the basic amenities.

The team in three months time prepare the document after covering the city and outskirts and try to highlight the problems people face for years. Roads, drainage, water with good supply are some of the issues that the team documented after interacting with people and now plan to handover it to the top officials.

He added, the aim of this survey was to find out the grievances and problems faced by the citizens of Vadodara and find sustainable solutions for the same. Basically, the survey told us what the citizens want, i.e. what their Manifesto would be, instead of political leaders speculating as to what the citizens might want.

We compiled the results of the survey into a document and called it ‘Yuva ka Manifesto’. This Manifesto contains the aspirations of the Youth and what they expect from our political leadership. This is their Vision for the city of Vadodara.

Chhatra Sansad is also working towards a massive campaign to increase the voting percentage of Vadodara city. They aim to break the world record, collectively as a responsible city, and create history by having the highest voter turnout of a city in corporation elections.

“Even though voting is the most integral part of democracy, Vadodara City’s voter turnout has been consistently and embarrassingly low.
We do not come in support of any political party and our sole aim is to create awareness about the responsibility to utilise their democratic rights which would ultimately lead to better governance.

As a part of this Campaign, Chhatra Sansad conducted a survey consisting of citizens from all 19 wards of the City. In total, we created a sample size on the plus side of 95,000 eligible voters, equally represented across both genders and all age groups, ” Said Aditya Vegda Senior Vice President.

Chhatra Sansad envisages itself to being the bridge between our elected officials and citizens, which is also why we took up this Initiative. At its heart, this Manifesto aims to bring closer together our leaders and citizens so that together, we can ensure that Vadodara becomes a Model City that other cities in our Country can look up to.

As part of this Campaign, Chhatra Sansad has interviewed over 95,000 citizens, held more than 500 Nukkad Sabhas and collected over 1000 Testimonial videos of citizens describing their grievances.
