Vikram Dev Dutt, a senior IAS officer, named the next Chairman and Managing Director of national airline Air India

Vikram Dev Dutt, a senior IAS officer, has been named the next Chairman and Managing Director of national airline Air India.
The appointment comes at a time when Tata Group has taken control the national carrier. The appointment was part of a top-level bureaucratic change in India's government.
Take a look at some of the other high-level appointments made today:
(I) Ms. B V Umadevi, IFoS:CG (87), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
(ii) Shri Shashank God, lAS (TG:90), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, now in the cadre.
(iii) Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh, lAS (JH:91), Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, currently in the cadre.
(iv) Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, LAS (UT:91), Principal Commissioner, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, as Vice Chairman, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs.
(v) Shri Chanchal Kumar, lAS (BH:92), Managing Director, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd., Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, in the rank and salary of Additional Secretary.
(vi) Shri Ashish Srivastava, lAS (MP:92), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, by cancelling his appointment as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, on December 4, 2021. (SR).
(vii) Shri Han Ranjan Rao, lAS (MP:94), Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, in the rank and salary of Additional Secretary, as Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund, Department of Telecommunications.
(viii) Shri V. L. Kantha Rao, lAS (MP:92), Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition), Ministry of Defence, as Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, succeeding Shri Sliri Han Ranjan Rao, lAS (MP:94), Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund.
(ix) Shri Pankaj Agrawal, lAS (MP:92), Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Defence vice Shri V. L. Kantha Rao as Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition). On his nomination as Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, lAS (MP:92) received a standing ovation.
