Report: Meta spent $43 million on Mark Zuckerberg's personal security in 3 years
New Update

Meta has spent more than $40 million on CEO Mark Zuckerberg's personal security in the past three years, while his family-run foundation has also donated millions of dollars to groups that want to ‘defund the police’, according to a report.

Since 2020, PolicyLink, the organization behind DefundPolice.org, has received $3 million in donations from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the report said, citing investigative report Lee Fang.

The anti-police group calls itself a place for advocates or organizers who are looking for resources to divest from policing for building safer communities, the NYP report said.

In addition, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Pricilla Chan's CZI has also offered monetary support of $2.5 million to another anti-cops group called ‘Solidaire’.

The company's February filing stated that CZI increased its spending on Mark Zuckerberg's personal security by $4 million.

In 2023, Meta CEO's personal security costs $14 million, however, it was $10 million in the past years.

It is pertinent to be highlighted that spending on Mark Zuckerberg's security has been raised due to his position and importance to Meta.

The reports also claimed that Zuckerberg has requested to only receive $1 in annual salary without any bonus payments, equity awards, and any other monetary compensation.

Reportedly, Meta earmarked around $27 million in 2021 for a complete security program to ensure the safety of Mark Zuckerberg, Chan, and their daughters.

Such an amount on Zuckerberg's personal security and his monetary support to ‘defund the police’ groups is seen as hypocrisy.
