Under the guidance of District Election Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal and following the special instructions of the State Election Commission, the District Health System made great efforts to collect and safely dispose of bio-medical waste at every polling station of District and Taluka Panchayats as well as Municipalities.

Additional chief health officer Dr. Uday Tilawat said that at each polling station were given a bucket and a required number of bags to dispose the used hand glove.
The facility was provided with the intention of disposing of used masks, face shields, hand gloves, kits used by covid positive person and staff in the bucket and stop the possibility of transition from this waste.
From time to time the the health staff emptied the bucket in a packet and taken in a vehicle to the nearest hospital. This operation was continued till the polling ends.
The waste is now being picked up from government hospitals by a designated agency.
The operation was carried out by the health staff as a precaution to prevent Covid infection. As a result, safe disposal of hand socks, masks and others generated at the polling station was made possible.
The District Election Officer has commended the health staff for making the polls fearless by continuing this vigilant work with safety to prevent the possibility of infection.
