Khatija Rahman, daughter of noted music composer A.R. Rahman, made her debut as a music composer in Kollywood with filmmaker Halitha Shameem’s upcoming movie Minmini.
The trailer and songs of Minmini a coming-of-age movie, starring Esther Anil in the lead were launched on Wednesday.
Khatija Rahman is a playback singer who was part of movies like Ponniyin Selvan: II, Iravin Nizhal and Mimi.
She made her playback singing debut with the movie Robot. Her sister Allah Rakha Ameen is also a playback singer.
According to media reports, AR Rahman found the first song composed by her “refreshing and calming.”
A.R. Rahman, however, did not attend the event.
