Relief and rehabilitation work in full swing in Vadodara

Vadodara city is slowly coming to normalcy after the scary floods and administration is now engaging in relief and rehabilitation work. As the water receding in low lying areas the main challenge for the district administration is to maintain health and the teams are already started working to maintain the same.

Vadodara district collector Shalini Agarwal briefed about the situation and the relief and rehabilitation work undertaken by the district administration. She said as water level comes down the main concern or rather a challenge for them is health of the people. They prepared a micro plan for it and engage 90 teams comprises of doctors to visit people. Corporation, district, private, government and medical College doctors are conducting ward wise survey, conducting camps and surveillance people, distributing chlorine tablets and give health advisory guidelines to the affected people.

Their teams are continuously monitoring the rain situation along with the levels of rivers and dams. Around 26 teams are conducting survey in areas to collect the data of affected people for the relief like cash dole given to them later on. Till Friday evening 2,09,150 food packets were distributed and 2, 40,000 are kept ready for the affected people. The relief and rehabilitation work is in full swing by the administration.

The cleanliness drive is conducting on war footing to clean the roads and drainage. Teams from Surat and Ahmedabad is also helping the local teams in relief work.

17 JCB, 24 Suction machine, 16 Jetting machine, 4 Super suction machine, 20 dumpers are engaged in cleanliness work. The Robot JCB from Surat also doing work in the areas to clean the garbage. The machine can able to pick big amount of garbage from the roads and fill the dumpers. Five Glutor machines also help the cleanliness drive as it can useful in cleaning chocked drainage lines.

Teachers and principals of Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti also helped the cleanliness workers in cleaning the areas. Forest department teams also help to rescue the animals like crocodiles, tortoise, snakes and also clear the roads by removing fallen trees.
