Mock drill on Radiological Emergency (RDD) conducted at Vadodara Railway station
RPF, GRP, Scouts and Guides and 6 BN NDRF unit participate to spread the awareness in time of emergency
It all depends on the timing and coordination of the agencies in emergency situations to rescue the trapped and save lives. A slight mistake can lead to a big disaster which we recently witnessed in the Surat fire tragedy where innocent students lost their lives.
With an aim to bridge the gap a mock drill on "Radiological Emergency (RDD)" conducted at Vadodara Railway station with RPF, GRP, Scouts and Guides and 6 BN NDRF unit to spread the awareness in passengers and the stakeholders to act in percission during such situations.

The mock exercise showed a similar device was hidden inside the box in a coach and passengers started to fell unconscious after came in contact with the radiations coming out from it. A stampede like situation happened as people rushed out from the coach.
The RPF teams rushed to the spot and after evacuation called the NDRF to take care of the RDD through their expertise and equipment's to decontaminated the device. Dog squad, ambulance was involved in the rescue efforts and instructions are also given to call the relief train and medical van to the spot.
Agencies participated in mock exercise are 39 personnels from NDRF, 65 from RPF, 25 Railway Safety team, 10 Railway medical team, 50 Scout and Guides, 2 from railway technical team, police, traffic police, GRP and others took part in the mock exercise.
