First woman Sub Inspector of Gujarat police trained on Coast Guard operations

Asha Gamit, Sub-inspector from Gujarat Police becomes the first women trained by Indian Coast Guard (ICG) amongst the 13 probationers Sub-inspectors.

Training on Coast Guard operations started on 23 Jan 2020 at Headquarters Coast Guard Region (NW) Gandhinagar, wherein marine related subject and coastal security subjects were taught. Later on 25 January trainees were deputed to Coast Guard District Headquarter No.1 at Porbandar for acquaintance and sailing onboard Indian Coast Guards ship.

ICG has been training Marine Police personnel and this was for the first time Gujarat Police has been trained by ICG. The closing ceremony concluded with award of certificates and memento in presence of ICG senior officials, trainers and SP Gandhinagar.
