The ACB has nabbed the officer, who is currently on duty at the office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture at Chhotaudepur and Dahod, for taking a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh from a trader who owns a shop selling pesticides, chemical fertilizers and seeds at Naswadi in Chhotaudepur district. Living on Waghodia Road in Vadodara he went to the trader’s shop to collect the bribe amount.

Vadodara Rural ACB PI J.R. Gamit said, the class-2 officer of the Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Office at Chhotaudepur Yogesh Jethabhai Amin is currently working in the office of the Director of Agriculture (Land Testing Experiment School) at Dahod. They had issued a notice to a trader who owns a shop selling pesticides, chemical fertilizers and seeds in Naswadi for selling pesticides.

Yogesh Amin, 27, a resident of Tirthak Tenement on Waghodia-Dabhoi Ring Road in Vadodara and presently residing at Gurukrupa Society in Chhotaudepur, demanded Rs 2,50,000 from the pesticide dealer to settle the notice. However, at the end the amount was fixed at Rs 1,50,000. The trader did not want to give even Rs 1.50 lakh to the officer and lodged a complaint with the Vadodara Rural Bribery and ACB. On basis of the complaint the team laid the trap to caught the officer.

According to a trap set up by the ACB, the trader called officer Yogesh Amin to his shop in Naswadi Bazaar to collect the money. The ACB caught the officer red handed while taking the bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh from the trader.

The trap was laid under the guidance of Assistant Director G.V. Padheria. P.I. J.R. Gamit said that the property of agriculture officer Yogesh Amin will be investigated. If assets more than income come out in the property check, then one more complaint will be lodged against him.
