Reliance Foundation has announced an ambitious social welfare project, Nita Mukesh Ambani Anant Ashray, aimed at providing lifelong shelter, care and support to more than 5,000 vulnerable individuals. The initiative will focus on orphaned and underprivileged children, senior citizens and people with disabilities, offering them a safe environment where they can live with dignity and independence.
The foundation stone for the project was laid by Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani on November 1 in Karjat, Maharashtra. The proposed township will cover around 100 acres and is designed to accommodate not only residents but also caregivers, healthcare professionals and other support staff, taking the overall community to approximately 15,000 people.
The township will be developed around eight residential villages named after India’s sacred rivers. Plans include healthcare facilities, a hospital, rehabilitation centres, educational institutions, gardens, playgrounds, agricultural spaces and vocational training centres. Residents will receive personalised healthcare, education and rehabilitation services, along with assistance from dedicated caregivers. The project will be developed in phases and is also expected to create employment opportunities for people living in nearby areas.
Through this initiative, Reliance Foundation aims to build an inclusive community where people who need long-term support can find a permanent home, access essential services and experience a sense of family, security and belonging.
