During his recent visit, Additional Chief Secretary of the State, Pankaj Kumar suggested yoga and pranayama session to maintain the health of the nursing staff, doctors and other staff working at Covid Hospital in order to keep them stress free and perform their daily duties with freshness. In view of the same Officer on Special Duty and Education Secretary Dr. Vinod Rao has implemented the idea and conducted a session for the nursing staff.

Yoga instructor Sunil Sharma conducted a yoga and pranayama session to strengthen the respiratory system and increase consciousness. The session was held at GUVNL guest house where around 12 nurses took part and tried to refresh themselves through the ancient therapy of Yoga.

It is to be noted that residential arrangements have been made for the on-duty staff of Covid Hospital at the above place as it is necessary to keep away from their family during the seven days of duty to prevent spreading of infection. It has been decided to hold a yoga session every morning for on-duty doctors, nursing staff and cleaners at the site from tomorrow at 11 am, said spokesperson Dr Sheetal Mistry.

Explaining the importance of keeping the respiratory system safe and infection free in Corona, Dr. Mistry said that yoga relieves stress and depression and pranayama regulates and strengthens the respiratory system. Yoga, pranayama and meditation improve lung health, Mental balance and concentration improved, strengthened the morale and nurtured the body’s immune system.

In Covid Hospital, one has to stay away from home and perform their duties. They are also worried about the effects of the disease which is still unknown to everyone. In such circumstances yoga can protect the health of the staff by refreshing and relieving stress. Keeping all the benefits in mind the sessions has been planned by the administration.
