WRWWO president Tanuja Kansal awarded WR’s Corona warriors for exemplary work during lockdown

Western Railway employees have worked tirelessly during the deadly Coronavirus Pandemic and setting example of true workmanship. In order to appreciate the combined efforts of employees from various departments, WRWWO president Tanuja Kansal awarded 38 cash awards to selected Western Rly staff. Steel thermos, umbrellas and deep freezers were also donated to different categories of WR staff for their exemplary work as corona warriors during the lockdown period.

According to a press release issued by WR CPRO Ravinder Bhakar, to appreciate & acknowledge the marvelous work done with dedication and devotion by Western Rly’s staff during the lockdown period in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic, WRWWO President Tanuja Kansal announced cash awards of Rs. 2000/- each (Total Rs. 76,000) to 38 employees of various departments of Western Railway Headquarter. These cash prizes were distributed among the employees on behalf of WRWWO on 25th June, 2020 at WR HQ’s premises at Churchgate. It’s worth mentioning that during the lockdown period, Western Rly has created various records by running highest Shramik & Parcel Special trains with commendable loading, as well as has achieved excellent performance in several other fields.

Besides this in motivation of WR’s outstanding employees, Steel Thermos to 250 Paramedical staff of Western Railway’s Jagjivan Ram Hospital worth Rs. 50,000/-, Umbrellas to 432 track maintainers of Mumbai Division worth Rs. 1 lakh and Deep Freezers to RPF warriors in their barracks of Mumbai Division worth Rs. 75,000/- were donated by WRWWO.
