WR scores triple century of WiFi on the pitch of Digital India Mission

Continuing it’s various efforts and initiatives, towards Digital India Western Railway has achieved yet another important milestone by scoring triple century of free Wifi facility by providing this facility at its 300 stations including Suburban and Non-Suburban stations across Western Rly. This facility of free WiFi was recently commissioned at Amalsad station of Mumbai Division of Western Railway, which is 300th station of WR and in near future this useful facility will be extended to 125 more stations over Western Rly.

According to a press release issued by WR CPRO Ravinder Bhakar, in a innovative accomplishment, Western Railway has decided to take a huge step to provide free Wifi facility at all its Suburban and Non-Suburban stations for the benefit of passengers. With the commissioning of WiFi at Amalsad station in Gujarat, with association of M/s Railtel Corporation of India Ltd., M/s Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. and M/s Tata Trust, 300 stations have been provided with the free Wifi facitlity over WR.

The work of extending it to 125 more stations is in full swing. Passengers can access high speed Internet facility free of cost at stations for a period of 30 minutes on their smart phones and laptops and to use further they’ll have to login again. With this free internet facility, passengers can stay connected and gain information they require.
