UK for 2-state plan, bans entry of those involved in violence against Palestinians

Amid intensifying attacks, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak backed for two-state solution after Israeli ambassador for UK said “absolutely no” to the plan.

Israeli ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely, rejected the two-state plan in an interview on Wednesday night.

According to the Gaza health ministry, about 18,787 Palestinians were killed and 50,897 wounded in Israeli strikes since October 7.

Meanwhile, UK has taken steps to ban Israelis responsible for violence against Palestinians in the West Bank from entering Britain.

Taking to X, foreign secretary, David Cameron, tweeted that “by targeting and killing Palestinian civilians, [they] are undermining security and stability for both Israelis and Palestinians”.

Cameron also urged Israel to take stronger action to stop settler violence and hold the perpetrators accountable.

However, with the number of displaced people increasing, the UN has said that it is now unable to take aid to the north of Gaza.

UNRWA said that the spaces around its buildings are congested with shelters and hungry people so it is unable to get aid to those who were unable to flee south.

As the attacks continue, the Israel Defence Forces said that more than 70 militants were arrested during an intelligence operation at the Adwan hospital in Gaza city.

In footage posted on social media, several of the prisoners were shown exiting the building shirtless and placing weapons on the ground.

In a post on X, the military said it had targeted the terrorist group in the eastern Gaza neighbourhood of Shejaiya. It said it had “dismantled their central operating site located inside a school”.

Israel's military said that it has arrested more than 70 Hamas members at a hospital in northern Gaza, as health officials accused Israeli troops of preventing medical staff from providing care.

Israel Defence Forces spokesman Avichay Adraee, said the fighters had "surrendered with their weapons" at Kamal Adwan hospital.

The health officials said that the Israeli troops prevented staff from providing care to 10 injured people at the hospital, reportedly causing two of them to die.

An airstrike was also carried out against a sniper in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

It added that it had discovered two tunnel shafts in Khan Younis in southern Gaza
