
A powerful earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale has struck America, causing widespread panic among residents. Although no reports of casualties or property damage have been received so far, a tsunami alert has been issued in the affected region.
According to reports, the tremors were felt in the Drake Passage area, a deep and wide oceanic passage connecting the southwestern Atlantic Ocean with the southeastern Pacific Ocean.
As per data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10.8 kilometers.
