The deceased has been identified as Sasikumar, a native of Ilayangudi in Tamil Nadu’s Sivaganga district. He was returning home from a private trip abroad.

According to sources, Sasikumar began experiencing severe discomfort during the flight. He collapsed in his seat shortly after and became unresponsive.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the airline crew immediately initiated emergency protocols, administering first aid and CPR. A fellow passenger, identified as a medical professional, also attempted to revive him. Despite their combined efforts, Sasikumar showed no signs of recovery.

Upon landing at Tiruchy International Airport, medical officers boarded the aircraft and confirmed that the passenger had died mid-flight.

Initial findings suggest a sudden cardiac arrest as the probable cause of death. Authorities have since informed Sasikumar’s family and begun necessary procedures.

Airport police and health officials are overseeing the formalities. Officials are also looking into whether Sasikumar had any prior medical conditions that may have contributed to the incident.
