The Jaffar Express, en route to Quetta, was derailed on Tuesday following a powerful explosion on the railway track near the Sultankot area, located close to the Sindh-Balochistan border.
The blast caused at least four coaches of the passenger train to derail. Initial reports suggest that several passengers sustained injuries, though officials have yet to confirm the exact number of casualties or any fatalities.
Rescue operations are currently underway, and the injured are being transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Security forces and railway officials have cordoned off the area, and a high-level investigation has been initiated to determine the cause and nature of the explosion. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
This is not the first time the Jaffar Express has been targeted. In March this year, the train was hijacked by militants from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). During that incident, over 400 passengers were onboard. Pakistani security forces launched a rescue operation, freeing 155 hostages and killing 27 militants.
The repeated targeting of the train has raised serious concerns over the security of Pakistan’s railway infrastructure, especially in volatile regions.
