At least 2 people have died and several others injured after a truck crashed in a market in South Korea. As per officials, at least 18 people have been injured in the accident.
As per Korean media, emergency officials said that truck crashed into a row of shops at a traditional market in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, on Thursday.
As per sources, the truck crashed into the market after it sped out of control for 150 metres (164.04 yards).
CCTV footage aired on Korean television showed shoppers going about their business at an outdoor market before a blue truck accelerated along a passageway lined by stalls and crashed into one of the stores.
In a press conference, emergency officials said that the truck appeared to reverse for 28 metres before accelerating towards the outdoor market.
A police officials said that the driver blamed the sudden acceleration for the accident. Officials added further that the driver was not intoxicated or under the influence at the time of the crash.
Authorities will be handing over the vehicle to investigators to try to determine the cause of the crash.
Earlier this month, a power plant in the Ulsan region collapsed, killing at least three people.
According to the fire department, two workers had been located under the rubble of the former structure. However, the remaining structure had to be demolished by explosives so that rescue operations could continue.
The collapse took place a week ago when workers were in the process of taking down parts of the massive steel structure.
Rescue teams were prompted to deploy heat sensors, remote scopes and search dogs during the search for the missing and trapped.
