Continuing its supremacy this year in the field of sports by winning the prestigious All India ‘Kaul Gold Cup’ for record 28th time in a row, Western Railway once again has a proud reason to cheer, as their hockey player Chinglensana Kangujom Singh has been conferred with prestigious Arjuna Award declared on 17th August, 2019.
According to a press release issued by WR CPRO Ravinder Bhakar, Chinglensana has been awarded with this prestigious Award for his remarkable performances and his exemplary dedication to the Nation. The Arjuna Awards are given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India to recognize outstanding achievements in the field of sports.
Chinglensana represented India in common wealth games-2014 in which Indian men’s hocky team won bronze medal and also represented India in prestigious Asian Games 2014 and 2018 where Indian men’s hockey team won silver and Bronze medals respectively. He also represented the country in Rio Olympic games 2016. He has been representing Indian railways at national level since last 8 years and representing the country at international level since 2014.
Western Railway’s General Manager A.K.Gupta has congratulated Chinglensana for his marvellous achievement and has appreciated his dedication and tremendous performances while representing India and has always put the nation ahead in various international level tournaments.
