Under the guidance of District Election Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal and as per the guidelines of the State Election Commission, the District Electoral System makes special arrangements to facilitate the voting, especially for the visually impaired and disabled voters.

As many as 140 wheelchairs and same number of volunteers have been deployed at polling stations where such voters are registered to help them cast their votes.

District Social Security Officer Mayank Trivedi said that these volunteers have started the service of assisting the needy voters in various ways to facilitate their voting from the very beginning of the polling.

The needy are taken to the polling station by hand or in a wheelchair and care is taken to ensure that such voters are given priority to vote as per the rules.
