Vadodara Fire Brigade has launched a search for the missing youth

The Vadodara Fire Brigade has launched a search for the missing person who drowned in the river Mahi passing near Lachanpur village in Savli taluka. On sunday afternoon, two youths from Vadodara went to bath in Lachanpur Mahi river, in which one was drowned. Family members also rushed to the spot after the message.

As per available details, Yashwant Parsing Damor (18) resident of P&T Colony on Harni Road and his friend Steven on a motorcycle went for a bath in the Mahisagar river passing near Lachanpur village in Savli taluka. Considered as a picnic spot both friends went inside the river when Yashwant started drowning and Steven came out to the river bank in panic. In front of his eyes Yashwant disappeared into the flowing water.

Meanwhile, Steven informed Yashwant's family and the police which rushed to the spot and start looking for him with the help of local swimmers. However, the missing Yashwant was not found and the police informed the Vadodara Fire Brigade about the incident.

On Monday morning the Vadodara Fire Brigade team reached the spot including a rubber boat to find the missing young Yashwant along with sophisticated equipment. However, the fire brigade's boat could not reach the river bank due to the large vehicle and police arranged a tractor from Lachanpur village to take the boat to the shore to take it into the river.

It is to be mentioned that Lachanpur, which is considered a picnic spot, has been closed for a long time by the administration due to Covid 19. Even so people visited there for picnic inspite of the warning. Yashwant and Steven, two youths from Vadodara, went there on Sunday in which Yashwant drowned and went missing. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
