Vadodara Traders Association demands not to extend the lockdown as if it happens then it will be time for traders to commit suicide as they don't have any earnings to pay bills and support their families. It is to be noted that in order to control the Corona transition, Gujarat government has announced the mini lockdown till May 20. Thursday is the last day for the lockdown to end.

On the last day of the lockdown, traders from Vadodara gathered at Raopura and demanded the government not to extend the lockdown now. The traders also chanted slogans request to allow them to start their business. Secretary of Vadodara Fruit and Merchant Association Bharat Chauhan said that trade has been closed for the last 23 days and the situation of small and big traders has become dire due to the closure of businesses. It is not appropriate to close down businesses just to prevent the transition to corona. Today is the last day of the lockdown and they demand that the lockdown should not be extended by the government.

He further said that if the lockdown is still extended by the government, traders would have no choice but to commit suicide by hanging themselves or jumping into a lake.

In response to a question about what you would do if the lockdown was extended by the government, the trade association said that the traders will be forced to run their business in violation of the civil law. Due to the closure of trade for the last 23 days, the condition of small traders who are making a living by trading on a daily basis has become dire.
